Esperance Sportive de Tunis coach Faouzi Benzarti held a press conference today during which he proclaimed that his players are as ready as ever for the first leg of the Semi-Final encounter against Egyptian giants Al-Ahly which will be played on Sunday.

“We’re ready for this first leg. Our experience and tenacity will be our best weapons. To qualify, we absolutely have to succeed in the away fixture. The weakness of the Egyptian champions resides in their backline and it’s up to us to exploit this situation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Benzarti also touched on the fact that he will have to cede a number of his players to national team duty in between the two legs considering there are African Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled for the weekend of October 10th. According to him, this isn’t problematic.

“We know that the match against Togo is a very important game for our national team which is why we have to be understanding. We have five players in the senior side and three in the Olympic one. Plus Michael [Eneramo] is with Nigeria and [Harrison] Afful with Ghana. In any case, we’ll have to live with it,” he explained.
