Utaka, top scorer in the Danish Sas-ligaen last season with 18-goals, put the visitors ahead in the 15th minute.
But ten minutes later compatriot Dickson Nwakaeme levelled score for the home side inside the Energi Nord Arena.
But it was Utaka and his OB counterparts that had the last laugh as the in-form Peter Utaka seal victory with quarter of an hour left to play.
"We desperately need the victory after the setback against Stuttgart in the Europa League on Thursday," Utaka said.
"I am grateful to my teammates for their support in the game, when you are looked up to as someone with a reputation for scoring goals you start to grow in confidence.
"Aalborg is a difficult place and they made it hard for us but we never gave up even after the equalised.
"Now we need to keep improving on positive results like this and take into the remaining match of the season."
