Sharks' Mbah cheats death

There was drama and pandemonium on Sunday at the Sharks FC Stadium during the first leg, third round WAFU Cup tie between Sharks FC and Stella FC of the Ivory Coast.
In the 60th minute of the encounter Sharks defender Godwin Mbah challenged Stella’s Diabate Samba for an aerial ball. The Sharks Man landed awkwardly and immediately passed out.
Medics immediately began the process of resuscitating the unconscious defender and it took all of two-minutes before he finally showed signs of stirring.
He was subsequently taken in an ambulance to a private medical center twenty minutes away from the Stadium. Team Doctor of Sharks, Dr Vincent Wachukwu brought SuperSport.com up to speed on the situation.
“He suffered a contusion because of the force with which he landed on the pitch with his head” he said.
“The good news is that he is now in stable condition and will be discharged from the hospital on Monday morning.”
Meanwhile, the General Manager of the team, Okey Kpalukwu has installed the side as firm favourites for the title.
“We hammered ASPAC of Benin Republic four-one in the last round and now we have demolished an accomplished Stella five-nil side without ever moving away into second gear. Sharks are a team to fear in this competition.” he stated.
